Our global network of seabird fanatics and passionate expedition cruisers just lost one of the best.
This evening I received the shocking news from Dick Filby of the passing of John-Brodie Good last Tuesday (29 October 2019) following a sudden illness.
John was a co-founder of this discussion group (Seabird News) and was, of course, best known in birding and whale watching circles as the founder of Wildwings - an extremely influential specialist travel company based in Bristol UK.
Most of all, John was a very dear friend to so many like-minded enthusiasts around this small blue planet of ours.
A genuine pioneer, he helped bring many of the great ship-based birding experiences into existence and could be relied upon to give sound advice even if he was busy or to organize a rescue if one's own travel plans went awry.
JBG will be sorely missed.
