Thanks again to everyone for your inspiring contributions at our kick-off meeting today!

I've created a new "Team Introductions" thread on Deep SEA and typed up the portion of the meeting where we introduced ourselves:

For the people who attended today, please take a look and make sure I captured your introduction correctly. If you see any mistakes, you can click the three dots at the bottom of your post and choose "Edit" to make corrections or additions.

If you were unable to attend today's meeting, please read through the other introductions so you can get to know the rest of the team. Then write up a quick post introducing yourself. We look forward to getting to know you!

David Tuma – Within Deep SEA, my subscription/notification settings were initially set by default to “Lurking”. I needed to change it to “Following”. I expect I’ll now receive notifications.

Thanks for capturing the introductions. I reviewed mine. It was really cool meeting everyone.

Kind regards,

            - Steve

For the Exceptional Agile forum, "Lurking" is the notification setting you'll need. Here are the differences:
  • Following means you will receive a single notification when a new top-level discussion is created in the Exceptional Agile area.
  • Lurking means you will also receive a notification when someone posts a reply within an existing discussion.
Since we plan to do a lot of our work asynchronously, it will be important to set this to Lurking. Otherwise, it would be like receiving the first email in a conversation, then missing everything that comes later.

I suspect the problem isn't your notification setting, but the spam filters at your company. I have an idea for a workaround; I'll do some research and get back to the group.

Hi, David – Thanks for the clarification about “Following” versus “Lurking”. I changed my subscription back to “Lurking”.

For me, the problem is not with “the spam filters at your company” since my Deep SEA account is associated with my Gmail instead. I did receive the notification, but it wasn’t in my Inbox.

Thanks,

            - Steve
