April Meetup Canceled

Hello SD Ruby,

We know what you are thinking - yet another cancellation. But as much as SD Ruby is a part of our lives and has been for the last 15 years, we think it’s best we skip the April meetup. I won’t do a public health announcement here, I’m sure you’ve all seen it a few times, but know that if there are those of you working remote for the first time and struggling, or just want a friendly nerd to talk to, the mailing list is open and we’ll be sending out info for an SD Ruby slack organization in the coming days. 

We will reassess in a few weeks and make a call about May at that time. We’ll keep you up to date with any changes here, on social and via the website.

Surprised there wasn't a virtual meeting. How about next month?

I am taking the free Coursera course from Imperial College London on Covid-19. Having read the paper describing their model, I suspect we are actually in for 3 months of "lockdown", and so inability to have person-person meetings of this nature.

I will make a separate post pitching this free course!

We certainly have been discussing it.  To be honest, the April meeting was just too close to us all trying to batten down our own various hatches to be able to pull it off.
