Pushover API integration TGID alerting (Similar to Unication pagers) for Volunteer FD pages.

 

To get alerts of a VFD page I have to have SDR Trunk run a script that plays a tone audio file for TwoToneDetect to send me a notification of an FD page the system is P25 Phase II Trunking and the VFDs have their own TG for pagers Fire and Medical for each dept and I am hoping integrating Pushover with SDR Trunk would make things simpler and not need to use TTD or a Virtual Audio Cable to direct the tone audio to TTD then have to wait for TTD to listen to the tone for 1 to 3 seconds before sending an alert to Pushover.

I think there is already a way to accomplish what you want. However any solution involving SDRTrunk or hobby software for alerting "First Responders" is highly discouraged and violates life safety protocols. I hope you have other alerting methods in place. 

For second responders, such as our CERT group, I have a process in place to give us advance notice ahead of an official notification from dispatch. Our CERT group is requested 20 minutes into a working structure fire, so if we know ahead of time we can start getting ready and shave a few minutes off. If my process fails, oh well, we are no worse off than our SOP.

I set SDR Trunk to record audio files. Our fire station alerting always comes from the same unit id, but one could also key off of the file name including "with tones".  I have a C# program but one could easily find a program that monitors a folder for new files. Once a file matches, the process uploads it to a Slack channel. I have taken it a step further by utilizing Microsoft's Azure Cognitive Services for Speech to Text. This now allows us to simply read the text of the call without having to play the audio fire. If it matches "Structure Fire" I have it send a special channel alert, along with the Dallas, Texas dispatcher tradition of "Let's go now" prefixed to the call.

You should be able to key off the file name of the recording to do anything you want.  Not familiar with PushOver, but a simple CURL execution should provide the integration point you need into it.  FileWatcher -->  Search Criteria --> CURL --> PushOver --> to whatever you want.

Deleted / no longer active conversation as I have found a solution. By the way for those that didn't know what the idea was intended for, it was for hobbyist use.

No need to delete, may serve useful for someone else if you share your solution. Sorry for assuming you were part of the VFD and using it to get VFD alerts instead of just for hobby use.

All good. What I did is I looked on the internet and sure enough there was a Pushover (push notifications app) python script so I did some customizing to the python script and it works well :-D. To get it to run it uses a batch script that SDR Trunk can open in TG Alias > Actions > Script it sends the notification as soon as the TG is active for a page. What it does is it will act like TwoToneDetect and say Fire Department 1 Page Received at 12:00:00 on 10-3-21. I use Zello to listen to the private audio feed coming from SDR Trunk. Using Pushover is better than email to text as the email to text service can be blocked by your cell phone provider if too many messages are sent or for some other reason. I switched cell phone providers some time ago and the new provider's email to text system was not like the previous provider so I started looking for other solutions and Pushover was a nice replacement of email to text so I did a trial of Pushover for 30 days to see if it was good and it was so I did the Pushover one-time in-app purchase for an android licence ($5 USD) once the trial period ended. This also worked out well because I didn't have to have multiple Gmail accounts for TwoToneDetect to have alert sounds for each TTD instance and so I deleted the other accounts and stuck with one account for a TTD instance with analog (Two-Tone) paging for other areas.
