Hey guys! Moved from DSD+ and oh my gosh I wish I did this sooner! Over the years I've been using DSD+, I have gathered a pretty extensive alias list radios and talk groups. And now I have the pleasure of re-importing all that alias data... I've just been manually adding each alias in the playlist editor, but I have over 500 talkgroup ID's and over a 1000 radio id's so it will be a lengthy project. Anyone know of a faster way to import all that data?

Hi!
First I want to congratulate you for makinig the wise move from DSD+ to SDRTrunk. Much better P25 sound quality with far fewer glitches.
Second I never had to have the burdensome task you have in importing so many radio id's and such. There are some wise people here that can chime in to help you!

Enjoy!

If you look in ~\SDRTrunk\playlist you will see some xml files (mine is default.xml).  One of them contains your playlists, you will likely recognize them.  If you know some scripting, like python, you can write a script to convert the whole thing over to this format.

Neilhar,  I know it's been a while since you opened this, but I wonder if you found a fix.  I'm having a similar problem because I can't get Playlist to access to radioreference.
I just found a couple solutions which were posted on a source code group in 2015.  This is before the feature was added to SDRTrunk Playlist.
Links from the thread:
I have not tried these yet.

Sorry, I didn’t open anything.   I haven’t used the sdrtrunk RR interface, nor have I looked at the code for it.  I manually enter the channels and talk IDs for my area, which is not difficult at all because not that many locally.

The fastest way to have all the talk groups imported is to use the radio reference interface. All you need is an active subscription to radio reference. I can do some digging but I remember having a strawberry pearl script that did the conversion from the downloaded info from radio reference data .csv file when I did not have an active subscription. I cant get onto that pc as my son is doing remote learning but found a thread from 2017.  https://groups.google.com/g/sdrtrunk/c/3UhFCsvhzes/m/ORW5lpaRAAAJ

I am going to get back into this as I have a ton of radio id's in DSDPlus and Unitrunker that I would love to see in Sdrtrunk.

I manually created an alias list and Playlist.  I used the playlist as a template.  I then used the referenced perl script.
After tweaking a bit, I was able to import a couple hundred talkgroups rather easily.  Since it's starting as a CSV, one could easily use a spreadsheet to update data fields.

I still can't get logged into RR but, with Wireshark, I was able to examine the content being sent to RR and determined it looked good.
I need to try opening a ticket with RR.  Note by the way: the login/password is sent in clear text.

I have a website I use to build radio alias: https://www.sdrtrunkbuilder.com

It's built to use your own CSV file as long as it's built: 'name','color','group','value'

Hmm,

Name, Color, Group and Value?  I did this and as seen below, the first entry is what I already had in default.xml in Sdrtrunk. The second entry is from a .csv file that I created.  The group and list are in different spots and one says no icon and one does not.  What's in the second set of brackets is good. What in the first set of brackets is different.  What am I doing wrong?

<alias name="Islip HazMat 1" group="R I D ' S" color="0" list="suffolk list">                                                     <id type="radio" value="62981" protocol="APCO25"/></alias>
<alias name="Islip HazMat 1" list="suffolk list" iconName="No Icon" group="R I D ' S" color="FFFFFF">    <id type="radio" value=" 62981" protocol="APCO25"/></alias>

Hi all,

Having the same issue as OP albeit a little different. I have a large number of DMR networks set up in separate playlists, however I am wanting to also import them into one general playlist

For example, I have 3 DMR systems in separate playlists, however I'd like to put them all in one for when I'm running a search across all systems. I've tried copying/pasting the XML however it doesn't like it and nothing happens.

Alternatively, I'm also attempting to do what the OP is trying to do - I have a bunch of information stored in DSDPlus and other files (mainly CSV or easy to transfer into CSV) however I'm struggling to import all of my aliases into SDRTrunk.

I've tried sdrtrunkbuilder but I can't seem to figure it out. I don't have much knowledge of XML or scripting, so I'm stuck here waiting for a somewhat simple solution
