Auto callsign grabbing and auto save of qsos intermittent with ESM

Hi to all and Yuri,

Thanks for accepting me. I'm new here and with SDC. I like it so much for the skimmer and contest features.

First, my radio is a Flex-6600. So I have discovered about the auto grabbing of callsigns when running in the last contest I participated before XE-RTTY this weekend but when I finally used it fully this weekend, those features worked at first but soon not working so auto grabbing of any callsigns didn't work for a long while and auto save of qsos not working also. It was also my first real contest in SO2R using xbsiq but only running in one slice at a time so using the other as a multi or qso chaser.

I'm wondering if it's a bug or just not used to using this new tool for me. So to make both features coming back working, I tried several things, so to just deactivate xbsiq and reactivate it, restart contest: Didn't work. One time, I restarted SDC, it worked the first time, both auto grabbing of callsigns in Run mode and Auto save of qsos worked but after a few qsos, they stopped working simultaneously. Sometimes, it never worked again for a long time, then I took a pause, when I came back, auto grabbing worked great for a few qsos or even just one but not the auto save? What?

The intermittence seems not related between the two features. By the way, all is ticked in the config window about the auto grabbing of callsigns, etc... and also "ESM. Enter steps to the next input field (QSO saved when on last field)". At the hour of the contest, both features came back alone and stayed until the end! Weird! As I don't anything about that in this forum or Youtube, I really think it's my fault but I do anything different!

Hi 

This is strange behavior. I need more information:

1. What happens when you press Enter to end a QSO? Is the phrase for ending a QSO ("TU," "EXCH") transmitted? Or do you press Enter and nothing happens?

2. How many keyboards do you use?

Hi Yuri,

It sends Call Exch but it doesn'r end and save the qso, I have to click Save. Only 1 keyboard. Both 19.0507 and 19.0508 experience this behavior.

Luc, please confirm that you are ending the QSO with the Enter key, not the F5+F2 keys.

I tested your test version a few days, worked well in WRT contest nearly 2 weeks ago but only 30 minutes mini contest. I tried in latest WRT last thursday, it worked a little than callsign auto grabbing stopped working and also auto save of qso without doing anything different and got back ok after a few qsos. I then installed latest test version from website (v19.0511 UTC: 28.02.2026 08:40). I then started to participate in NAQP RTTY contest last saturday. I worked great for a long time and then for one or 2 qsos, no auto grabbing of callsign and no auto save of qsos and then ok for quite a long time and then bam, not working again for both quite a long time then working good again. Come and go without doing nothing special. Here's a video when it doesn't work for both:
