Hi Association:

Today I tried to charge my EV Car and found that all ElectricPe EV chargers are not working. I was told that EV chargers are removed due to recent government guidelines. Can you shed some light on this please? What is the alternate plans for the EVs?

Thanks
Santhosh

Thanks
Santhosh

Hello Santosh,

We are aware that the electric charging stations by ElectricPe are not operational. We have attempted to contact the vendor, but they have been unresponsive.

We are exploring alternative solutions and are currently in discussions with various vendors. However, with the vendors we have consulted regarding charging infrastructure, we have been informed that, as per the government directives, installing charging stations in basements is prohibited. Consequently, they will not be installing charging stations in basements.

We are seeking alternative locations in common areas where we can establish a dedicated charging infrastructure.

We trust that this clarification will resolve any inquiries you may have.

Thanks & regards,
Nitish Limje

Appreciate the open communication on this matter. Do you have a tentative date for when this can be completed? Please advise.

Thanks

Hi Nitish/Association,

Thanks for the update on the vendor situation. Following up on that, I wanted to raise a concern regarding the current ElectricPe pricing model.

Looking at my charge from this morning at Wing 54 (attached), I paid ₹8 per unit for electricity, but was hit with a ₹20+ convenience fee. Paying nearly ₹60 for just 4 units of power means a 100% markup, which doesn't seem right.

Could you clarify why this convenience fee is being levied on every session and where this amount is going? I strongly suggest we look into this issue and why this kind of pricing structure if Electric pe is no more associated.

Regards,

Asit

Hello Asit,

The convenience fee is something which is decided by the vendor and association does not have control over it. We have been trying to reach the vendor to get clarification on the same but have not been able to reach them even after multiple attempts.

We’re trying our level best to find an alternate vendor which will help us setup the charging infrastructure however the initial setup cost it too high as an investment.

As a result we’re looking for a vendor which will provide us charging solutions with existing infrastructure.

Thanks & regards,
Nitish Limje

Hi everyone,

“as per the government directives, installing charging stations in basements is prohibited”

Can anyone please point me to such public documents fact checking this?

Based on ChatGPT results that is not true. ( maybe incorrect) Link:

Deb, per NBC 2025 recommendation it’s allowed for slow chargers in basement. But Fire dept is completely against it. Final GO is not with us yet.

Like stated, bigger players are not ready to install even slow charger in basement as they are worried of legal concerns if arise later. Smaller companies are not reliable as we are experiencing with electric pay.

So we are deliberating on chargers on common area on ground floor, which may take few weeks. Also exploring if any company is ok to install in basement. Here risk has to be accepted by us, residents.
