I'm sure most of you have seen promotions for the big rallies planned for this coming Saturday being organized by Indivisible, Sierra Club and others.

I'm planning to go to the West Chester event. I've heard from several volunteers that are joining bigger crowds in DC or Philadelphia.

I see events listed for:
  • West Chester - 1:00
  • Media - 12:30
  • Lower Salford Twp (Montco) - 2:00
  • Newark - 1:00
  • Reading - 12:00
  • Doylestown - 3:00
  • Philadelphia - 12:00
  • Lancaster - 11:00
  • Wash DC - 12:00

Trump and the billionaire corporate polluters that bought access to him want to sell out our air, water, and public lands for higher profits. It's time to show them that our environment and our future are NOT for sale.

That's why we're joining national and local organizations nationwide to say "Hands Off!" Find a local rally or event near you on Saturday, April 5!

My wife and I will be at the West Chester event. I may be a few minutes late. I'll be coming out from a meeting in Wayne.

Jim and I will be there.  Ronnie Montgomery is running a voter registration table--if anyone needs one.

If you're interested in going to DC, there are buses leaving from various points: see https://rally.co/hands-off-march-on-dc. The West Chester bus leaves at 7:50am and gets back at 7:30pm. $90.

If anyone has photos they'd like to share, here's a shared folder we can use.

Suggest creating a folder with the name of the town for the rally you went to if you don't see one akready. I saw some great signs.

Please avoid close up faces of people that haven't given you permission.

I bet there were 5,000 in West Chester.

Some guidance from national Sierra Club via PA Senior Distributed Organizer Melissa Farr:

Hi Folks,

I recognize this may not reach everyone in time before activities taking place this weekend, but this guidance was just issued this evening from National Field staff to Chapter Field staff in a draft form. Additional guidance is supposed to be on its way to volunteer leaders in the coming week. The relevant part to us right now is the following:

Non-Sierra Club Sponsored Mobilizations

  • Regarding social media, do not share non-Sierra Club-sponsored events on Sierra Club social media outlets. Because we do not control the events and speakers, there may be actions and endorsements that undermine our activities and therefore our mission.

  • We are asking that you do not create the impression that Sierra Club is sponsoring or hosting events which we are not. The best way to do that is to NOT bring signs and t-shirts to events that Sierra Club is not sponsoring.

  • To avoid giving the impression that Sierra Club is sponsoring or an official organizer of the event, we ask that you do not use Sierra Club’s name or logo at a non-sponsored event.

  • Do not speak as an authorized representative of Sierra Club if you are not one; this includes being interviewed and identifying yourself as a Sierra Club member at a rally that we are not sponsoring.

  • Avoid sharing personal details that could compromise your safety during demonstrations or on social media
