I have very recently started using SCM Manager. In some of the repos, I have given read access to the _anonymous user. I have also checked "Anonymous Access Enabled" option in settings.

However, I still can't figure out how to access the repo without logging in. If I use the URL https://sub.example.com/scm/repo/myuser/reponame/info, I am thrown to the login page. Using https://sub.example.com/scm/repo/reponame gives me a blank page.

What is the proper method of accessing a repo anonymously?

(The announcement post for RC1 seemed to suggest that anonymous access has been implemented.)

Hi Naman,

the anonymous access is only regarding the access via git, hg or SVN clients. The frontend cannot be accessed without a user.

I see, thanks for the prompt reply.

Are there any future plans to add anonymous access to the web interface for public repos? It'll be nice to link some of the projects on, say, my website, without having to host multiple SCMs.

There are currently no plans to support anonymous access for the web interface. Feel free to open a feature request at https://bitbucket.org/sdorra/scm-manager/issues?status=new&status=open

Hello Renee, I received a google security alert that SCM-manager front end user authentication was required when I change my google settings and password. Does this mean that someone has been sending my data to repository? Why would this be attached to my google account?
