Hi friends,
I am in the process of revamping a lot of different garden spaces at once. I'm adding new structures and changing layouts, a complete overhaul. A lot of these renovations are due to decaying garden beds that have met the end of their lifetime. They are all made out of wood, some cedar and some not. However, now I want to replace all garden beds with materials that are not wood.

What has worked well in your garden spaces? Or what have you used that has NOT worked well? Did you purchase pre-fabricated beds or did you create a design on your own? Extra points if your garden bed is ADA accessible!

Thank you in advance for your input.

Galvanized stock tanks work well for us. We fill the bottom 10 or 12" with lava rock and put an overflow valve at that level. Excess irrigation creates a little water table at the bottom plants can draw from so it's water smart for our dry climate. Attached is a little guide from our School Gardeners' Almanac.

Thx for this link. Lava rock is something that I have not used.
