Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has experience with school garden policy on a district or even state level. To make school gardens more sustainable and mainstream in the school day, I strongly believe we need the buy in and financial support from district leadership and states. This could be an interesting session during the school garden conference and I was wondering if there is anyone interested to help.

Thanks for any thoughts,
Barbara

Good morning,

I served as the Farm to School lead for Chicago Public Schools until last year (transitioned to Overseeing Career and Technical Education within same district) and would be happy to set aside some time to chat. I was responsible for policy, compliance, technical assistance and professional development for our schools. Feel free to reach out with a couple dates and times that work for you.

Best wishes,
Harold Chapman

Hi,

I would also love to join this meeting! I have a nonprofit and am working to get more school gardens in Pittsburgh, PA. I have been sitting in on the PA Farm to School implementation group meetings and would love to hear ideas about what works and what doesn't! We really need to up our school garden community in PA!

All those times work for me.

Thanks,
Tamara O'Brien

Hi,
I am a board member of Farmer Foodshare in Durham, and we've been sourcing produce from local farms and prior to COVID, were distributing it to 32,000 Durham Co. students, and had a Food Ambassador program running.  Would love to hear of other ideas, experiences.
thanks,

I am a teacher in Newport OR and passionate about this work.

Please keep me in this loop. I've been trying to find a way to make it to the National School Garden Conference.
