Hey everyone,

We’re looking to rebuild a garden and our garden team has been talking about offering treated wood as a cheaper option now that they don’t use arsenic in the treatment process. Does anyone have insights, especially research backed papers, on the effect of using treated wood in raised beds?

I’ve always heard that treated material is to be avoided for food stuffs… Why take on that risk & liability where children are concerned?

Hi, Aubryn.

Here is a helpful blogpost one of our staff wrote on treated lumber for food growing with research backing why this type of treated lumber is not a threat.
