Hello and almost Happy New Year everyone,

My district is looking for more garden supply companies that are woman or minority-owned. Does anyone have some names of companies you purchase from? Currently we are purchasing greenhouse supplies and would love to have more of these companies on our list.

Thank you and hope everyone is finding some time to relax before the new year!

Sincerely,

Hi Rebeka,

Here are companies we work with that are women owned or co-owned

https://www.reneesgarden.com/pages/about-us Renee is a longtime leader in the garden seed world and a past Life Lab board member.

Great collection of annual and perennial plants. They offer mail order and have a wide variety of plants. Many of which you can't find at bigger nurseries.

Peaceful Valley Farm Supply is a great site, once woman owned, Patty recently sold the business to a man and woman who are co-presidents of the family business. They have great products and incredible amounts of information on their site. Their videos are so much better than most of the random wacky garden stuff that comes up on YouTube. https://www.groworganic.com/pages/resource-center

I would love to hear of more businesses, thanks for asking the question.

Great thread! Adding Southern Exposure -they primarily sell seeds, but have some supplies as well, founded by Ira Wallace: https://www.southernexposure.com/categories/garden-supplies/

Hi all,

Don't know about actual garden supply but I order my seeds mostly from Fruition Seeds and the company is co-owned by a woman, Petra Page-Mann.

Not open for business yet but I am very excited for Sistah Seeds to open. Amirah Mitchell seems very passionate about seed preservation!!
