Jai Bhagwan Everyone,

 

If you have not been thinking about it during the last year, it is that time of the year to think about once in a life unwanted Date with our eternal Valentine death. Our Date has moved one year closer.

 

Valentine can show up anytime regardless of one’s age to put an end to our near and dear Sansar and take us to start the next one. How can we avoid the Date with Valentine? We cannot avoid the Date unless we stop taking the birth.    

 

We can stop taking the birth by pursuing the Mokshmarg with true વૈરાગ્ય towards Sansari things and relations. વૈરાગ્ય means lack of importance, interest and Rag towards Sansari things and relations because of their temporary nature. They will not come with us.

 

Not having વૈરાગ્ય towards Sansar results in us doing Kashays or Rag and Dwesh. Kashays stop our progress in the Marg and result in more births and Sansar.

 

How can we develop true વૈરાગ્ય? By contemplating, understanding and applying 12 Bhavnas in daily life. These 12 Bhavnas are: ૧ અનિત્ય, ૨ અશરણ, ૩ સંસાર, ૪ એકત્વ, ૫ અન્યત્વ, ૬ અશુચિ, ૭ આસ્રવ, ૮ સંવર, ૯ નિર્જરા, ૧૦ લોક, ૧૧ બોધિદુર્લભ, ૧૨ ધર્મ.

 

For example, પરમકૃપાળુ દેવ states about the first અનિત્ય Bhavna that ધન, યૌવન, જીવન, કુટુંબના સંગને પાણીનાં ટીપાં સમાન અનિત્ય જાણી, આત્મહિતરૂપ કાર્યમાં પ્રવર્તન કરો. સંસારના જેટલા જેટલા સંબંધ છે તેટલા તેટલા બધા વિનાશિક છે.

 

Meaning, we should spend life to free our Soul from the rebirth cycles because (our) wealth, youth, life and family relations are short-lived like a drop of water. All these Sansari relations are temporary.

 

પરમકૃપાળુ દેવ further states that એવી રીતે અનિત્ય વિચારણા વિચારો. પુત્ર, પૌત્રો, સ્ત્રી, કુટુંબાદિક કોઈ પરલોક સાથે ગયા નથી અને જશે નહીં. પોતાનાં ઉપાર્જન કરેલ પુણ્યપાપાદિક કર્મ સાથે આવશે. આ જાતિ કુળ રૂપાદિક તથા નગરાદિકનો સંબંધ દેહની સાથે જ વિનાશ થશે. તે અનિત્ય ચિંતવના ક્ષણ માત્ર પણ વિસ્મરણ ન થાય. જેથી પરથી મમત્વ છૂટી આત્મકાર્યમાં પ્રવૃત્તિ થાય.

 

Contemplate on the temporary nature of life. (Because) No family members have ever gone or will be able to go with us in the next life. Our good and bad Karma will go with us. All our Sansari relations will end along with the body forever. Therefore stay detached in these relations every moment by keeping their temporary nature in mind and to free the Soul from the rebirth cycles.

 

Once the Valentine takes us to the next life, our new temporary Sansar will start all over again. We will never be able to come back to this Sansar no matter how much the people we leave behind want us to like this one:
