I recently downloaded SarkPlots 1.0.0.53 to Dell Inspiron Windows 10 Home Version 21H1 OS Build 19043.1466 Feature Experience Pack 120.2212. 3920.0

It will bring up the SarkPlots Screen and allow me to open selected files from the Sark110 while on Computer Mode.

However, it will not "Connect" with the Sark110, to do a run directly into the device and thence into the PC.

When I exit , The PC  gives the error message "Unable to load DLL "Sark110_DLL.dll" The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT:0x*008007E)

I note from Cumulative Release Notes Section 1.2 page 4 that there had previously been a "known issue" to exactly this point, with a link to the fix. Unfortunately the link has been taken down by Microsoft.

Do any of you on the forum have a solution?

I downloaded a new copy of Windows 10 and that didn't; solve the problem, Same message.

I also downloaded an older version of SarkPlots 1.0.0.52. Same message after not connecting.

The DLL.dll file is indeed visible in the download,. but there is just no connectivity.

Your help or suggestions appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Group,

I had the same problem some months ago.

In my case Google Drive intervened when I wanted to download and install. After I was able to get the download to work, I ran into the same problem as Ed has.

Eventually I gave up, hoping the issue would be fixed at some time in the future.

I am about to get into home-brewing wire antennas and will be lost if I can't use Sarkplots 'live'.

Hello Ed,

Please try to install the redistributable package (x86) from the following location: Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update from Official Microsoft Download Center

Thanks,

Greg and Melchor:

I got brave enough to go into Microsoft and downloaded the latest package (2017-2029) since the Microsoft site said they no longer supported 2010 version.

Short answer, the latest version didn’t solve the problem and I got the same error message.

I got brave and downloaded the 2010 package from a third party site I had used for other things (CNET) and down loaded:

Net result was a success and device connected under computer control.

Funny that the newer versions didn’t work, so not back-integratable. I guessed Melchor’s programming was specific to the 2010 version.

This morning, Melchor to the rescue with a link to the official MIcrosoft site and the 2010 version SP 1.

I will try Melchor’s link later.

But Greg, you should have no problem and be able to string wires all over the Outback Down Under.

I did notice an inability to change scales on the PC version (VSWR from 100 to 1, for example) I don’t quite No why scale changes are not responsive on the PC.

Will fuss with it later today.

Melchor, thanks again for your continued contributions.

Greg, let us know how things worked out.

Gday Group,

It is Fixed. I am one Happy Ham.

Ed, I followed what you did and that worked. I haven’t tried Melchor’s alternative Redistributable.

My first ‘live’ scan of my 30m WSPR dipole is looking very good on the Big Screen. The dipole is oriented East West and talks to both Antarctica and China at the same time.

I too have a DELL Inspiron 3891 bought for the Shack.  It’s a Compact Desktop with a lid which allows me to get inside and add extra memory, an HDD and an SDD. It came as a Win 10 machine but the extras I added made it eligible for Win 11, which has some things to recommend it, except that the continuing barrage by that MS Edge wannabe-browser continues.  It’s like having an encyclopedia salesman with his foot stuck in your front door, so I’ve set up the 3891 as a dual boot machine with Linux Mint installed and working.  There is some relief there.

Well, it’s time to wind a Balun or two.

Thanks Ed. Thanks Melchor.

Great news Greg.

We’ll probably read about a couple crocs or kangaroos tripped up in your antennas!

I have a couple of apps that won’t yet work on Win 11, so I’ll just be happy my clunker PC isn’t up to Win 11.

Melchor-is SarkPlots affected by Win 11, or have you had time to check it?

Also, when using SarkPlots on PC mode should I be able to use scale changes on the PC?
