Hi all,
I spoke with Bob - he's been diagnosed with cancer (pancreatic et al.). He said that he didn't mind my informing the group, he didn't need anything, and that he would be around for a few months. I told him that, if he needed anything in the future, to let us know.
Send good thoughts to our dear colleague,
Wende

Thank you Wende for informing us.
This news is such a devastating terrible blow.
I am saddened by it, and can only hope that in the near future a treatment and cure can be found for this cruel disease as it has taken so many lives.
Having worked in research in the biological sciences, I know the great efforts required to find the answers we need to fight these diseases.
I hope for anyone that has the opportunity to speak to your government representatives, please let them know they need to continue to support funding in research to help find new and better treatments and possible cures for this and other such diseases that take such a toll on our lives.
My thoughts are with Bob and his family.

Bob was the driving force behind SARA conference in Dallas for 2024 April 8 eclipse.  I can't thank him enough for all the work on that.  My wife and I had a great visit there  Thanks again Bob.  You are in my prayers.

Bob was really a key person in organizing the 2024 Western Conference.   He recruited Dr. King at UT Dallas to be the keynote speaker and made sure all the arrangements for the conference were well in place.   Since it turned out that I could not make the conference in person, his role was very important.   I hope that his treatment is successful and he recovers from this disease quickly.
