I'm looking at:
"DC Dual Axis Solar Tracker Heavy Duty Metal Gimbal for Robot X Y Axis High Torque"
on Ali Express.
A bargain. I think it might be ok for the small dishes.

Hey Don,
I think I found these. The ones I examined are designed to handle a load of up to 2.5 Kg with 12 V control. The weight of the unit is about 1 Kg. That is a nice size for experimentation I think.

If you (or anyone) needs a larger unit,, I have a massive DC Alt-Az system that I bought from Paul Oxley. I don’t have the load limits, but the weight of the unit itself is about 100 pounds. It has metal gearing. Paul promised to send me details of the control system he had built, but didn’t get around to it. Perhaps someone else in SARA has a copy??

I am not using the unit so can sell or trade it if someone needs it.

I have a couple of the heavy units. They are Chinese, made for solar panel trackers. The drive motors draw about 2 amps at 12 V without load. I have one of the small ones on order to check out. One nice thing about the explorer setup is that the tail of the feed is very nicely made tom have a counterweight.
Dunno how long it will be to test with my explorer setup...
