That's my buddy Gabe.  His radome at Sandland was acquired from our facility a couple of years ago.

Been following saveitforparts for a while, lots of fun.  The motors shown are a Chinese product. I have had some of these apart, and they do use a very viscous and sticky grease mostly to absorb shock and enable reduced tolerances. Can be found in many such products. Don't get it on you or on your bench, it is really horrible stuff. Can also be found in direct burial telephone cables.  Really glad to see that the "works" are going to be closed loop servos and not open loop such as the antrunner.

Not  up on my  control systems  stuff   but  if  I remember   correctly isn't  a  closed  loop if  done  correctly  more  stable?

I would    like  to emphasize   something...  about  advancing  our  hobby.......   It  is not  what we know  now  .. It  is   what  we  must   learn  in  the  future .....
