Hi Rich,

This is the upcoming BAA RAZoom seminar schedule.  All SARA welcome.

Friday April 10th 19:30 BST (18:30 UTC)

Dr. Donald M. Hooper, Mitchell Cox, Kathryn Bolish

WEX Foundation Astroport Space Technologies, Inc.

MultiInstrument HighAltitude Balloon Campaign: Demonstrating

Sensor Readiness for Space and Lunar Missions

Four highaltitude balloon (HAB) flights were launched from San Antonio (TX) in June and July 2025, each carrying distinct atmospheric and radiation sensors: photovoltaic (PV) cells, electrochemical ozone cell, GeigerMüller (GM) tube, muon detector, UV sensor, and gamma dose-rate sensor. Our LCATS (Lunar Caves Analog Test Sites) student cohort, a STEM-based academic program, assisted with payload design. Our objectives were to map the tropospheric and stratospheric structure of ozone and UV intensity, identify the Regener–Pfotzer maximum (RPM) for radiation, characterize relativistic muon production, and identify gamma radiation peaks.

Friday May 1st 19:30 BST (18:30 UTC)

Diane Swan  Post graduate student University of Lancashire

(formally University of Central Lancashire)

What radio observation of core collapse supernovae tells us about the life and death of the star

Back in 2017 Eduard decided to build a modular 3 metre dish. This dish could be assembled for observation projects during periods of favourable weather. When not in use the parts could be stored in a shed, safe from rain and storms. In this presentation he will cover the construction and evolution of the dish, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of such a modular setup. Observation results will also be presented. If weather allows, a demo showing the observation of the hydrogen line will be performed.

Friday June 6th 19:30 BST (18:30 UTC)

Edward Mol Enthusiastic and Competent Amateur Radio Astronomer

Utrecht Netherlands

Observations and instrumentation using home built modular 3 metre L-band dish.

Friday July 10th 19:30 BST (18:30 UTC)  Dr Tim Molteno TART

The Transient Array Radio Telescope: An open-source aperture synthesis imaging radio telescope

Dr Tim Molteno is a Senior Lecturer in Physics at the University of Otago, New Zealand, Senior Research Associate, Physics and Electronics, Rhodes University, South Africa, and Director of the Electronics Research Foundation. He is an expert on Nonlinear Dynamics, Bayesian Inference, Measurement, Electronics, Signal Processing and Radio Astronomy Instrumentation. Twelve years ago he founded the Transient Array Radio Telescope (TART) project. Tim has contributed code to many parts of the TART project, his recent contributions include tart-cargo, disko, tart2ms, spotless, the version 3 hardware for the correlator, motherboard and radio-board as well as the current calibration system.

Please ask Paul to be added to the email distributism list if you want the Zoom link.  [ pa...@hearn.org.uk ]

Best wishes,

Paul.
