Job Title : Big Data Engineer
Location : Charlotte, NC
Duration : 6 + Months
Rate : $60/Hr
Consultants local to NC highly preferred.
Description:
Seeking a strong Big Data Engineer with Hadoop/Spark/Hive expertise. This position is located in Charlotte, NC and allows for partially remote work (currently remote).
Main responsibilities:
Design and develop applications utilizing the Hadoop or Spark Frameworks
Read, extract, transform, stage and load data to multiple targets, including Hadoop, Hive, BigQuery.
Migrate existing data processing from standalone or legacy technology scripts to Hadoop framework processing.
Should have experience working with gigabytes/terabytes of data and must understand the challenges of transforming and enriching such large datasets.
Skills required:
Strong understanding of data structures/algorithms
Expertise in Big Data skills like Hadoop and Hive
Experience building distributed systems
Strong database query optimization experience
Experience with Spark and Python a plus
