Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities:
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining the good health of the IT resources used by the company and its clients, including maintaining the cloud infrastructure, host platforms, systems, servers, networks, attached devices, and applications. These duties will be in support of Breckenridge Insurance Group or the clients supported by Breckenridge Insurance Group or one of its entities which are geographically dispersed.
- Architecting, supervising, and participating in the implementation of technologies and platforms supporting a complex corporate data and voice infrastructure
- Ensuring high availability of enterprise voice and data platforms that support internal employee business functions and external customer contact
- Troubleshooting and remediating complex issues impacting the operation of the corporate voice and data infrastructure.
- Serving as one of the primary points of contact for design, provisioning, installation and troubleshooting in the enterprise
- Overseeing the work of other engineers
- Training and mentoring infrastructure engineers and HD engineers on the operation and configuration of enterprise systems and networks
- Providing direction and supervision of resellers and partners on the design, implementation and upgrade of voice, video, and data systems in central and remote offices
- Evaluating new technologies and platforms to determine their applicability to solving our business challenges and needs
- Travel may be required up to 10% including overnight travel.
Technical Skills required:
- Maintain documentation concerning access to shared network resources, storage appropriation from the SAN through to the servers\systems, IP address management, procedures, checklists, knowledgebase articles and infrastructure diagrams and changes
- Maintain the Active Directory multi-site infrastructure, DNS, DHCP configuration, and AD backups
- Private Cloud - Support all facets of a multi-site VMWare VSphere infrastructure to include:
- Management of VSphere farm host platforms on a day to day basis
- Management of SAN resources
- Apply upgrades to the VSphere farm host platforms when available
- Monitor performance of VSphere farm hosts and virtual servers
- Deploy and reconfigure virtual hosts as needed to support development infrastructure as well as production
- Routine maintenance of the infrastructure using snapshots, cloning, and the use of templates
- Continue to develop strategies for operational management of the cloud infrastructure
- Maintain infrastructure critical applications running on multiple servers handling NFS, FTP Services and Web Services
- Work with application providers to perform upgrades of onsite applications such as IRIS, SAGE / MAS Accounting, and MS Exchange/Office365
- Maintain MS SQL DB and Informix Instances running on Windows and Linux in support of specific installed applications
- Maintain server-side applications used for web sites, virus protection, and messaging
- Maintain the core web servers running IIS and Apache
- Maintain and configure servers to support custom developed applications
- Disaster recovery
- Monitoring and Health checks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems/technology or related field
- 7 years of experience as a system engineer
