அயிந்திரபுரத்து அழகன் - திருவஹீந்திரபுரத் திருமால் துதி

உயர்ந்திரு நிலந்தனை ஒருங்குற அளந்தவன்   

நயந்துறி திறந்துறு நறுந்தயிர் அளைந்தவன்

கயம்படு கடுந்துயர் களைந்திட விரைந்தவன்

அயிந்திர புரந்தனில் அமர்ந்தருள் அழகனே.

பதம் பிரித்து:

உயர்ந்து இரு நிலம் தனை ஒருங்கு உற அளந்தவன்   

நயந்து உறி திறந்து உறு நறும் தயிர் அளைந்தவன்

கயம் படு கடும் துயர் களைந்திட விரைந்தவன்

அயிந்திர புரம் தனில் அமர்ந்து அருள் அழகனே.

 சொற்குறிப்பு:

இரு நிலம் - பெரிய உலகம்

ஒருங்கு உற - ஒன்று சேர

நயந்து - விரும்பி

உறு நறும் தயிர் - வாசனை மிகுந்த தயிர்

அளைந்தவன் - கையால் தொட்டுத் துழாவியவன்

கயம் - கஜம் - யானை (கஜேந்திரன்)

ஈற்றடியின் ஈற்றுச் சீரான “அழகனே” என்னும் சொல், “தனாதனா” என்னும் சந்தத்துடன் பொருந்தவில்லை என்று இப்போது தான் பார்க்கிறேன். எனவே “அழகனே” என்பதை “அழ” “கனே” என்று விட்டிசைத்துப் பாடுமாறு வேண்டுகிறேன்.

நல்ல சந்தம் அமைந்த பாடல். 'அஹி' என்னும் ஆதிஶேஷனால் நிர்மாணிக்கப்பட்டதால், அனந்தனே என்று மாற்றிய வடிவம் மிகப் பொருத்தம்.

With this change, I think it becomes a vaNNam song - தனந்தன x4

I originally intended this to be a vaṇṇam song, but since the last seer (“அழகனே”) didn’t fit the required pattern, I had to convert it into a sandha viruttam using that விட்டிசைத்தல்.

Thank you for helping me shape this vaṇṇam by suggesting “அனந்தனே.”

However, I have a small doubt:

“அனந்தனே” seems to follow the தனந்தனா pattern. Are we treating it as தனந்தன since it occurs as the final word of the line?

As you will notice in thiruppugazh, the final syllable of the pattern can be anything in the song.
