Hi all,

You may have seen that Judith recently posed a question to govdoc-l about library promotion of Census participation. That's something I've been thinking about a lot, given the potential for undercounts in San Diego for certain populations and concerns about privacy/citizenship question/etc. I'm meeting next Friday (1/24) with a San Diego Partnership Specialist from the Census Bureau to discuss ways that the UCSD library might help in outreach/promotion, and I would be happy to share whatever I learn in our chat.

I was wondering if any of you have had similar meetings, or if you would like to send me specific questions/concerns to discuss next week, or if you would like me to try to set up a SANDOCS meeting in the very near future with the partnership specialist or others to talk about these issues?

Best,
Kelly

Kelly,

Thank you for passing this on. I am interested in learning more about what libraries can do for the Census. If there's enough interest, I'd be interested in a meeting with other SANDOCS folks and the partnership specialist.

Best,
Michele
