Very Rare Rukmini Ashtakam from Skanda Mahapuranam

Dear All,

Greetings and Namaste. As Varalakshmi Vrat falls on Friday (25-Aug-2023), I am delighted share a very rare Ashtakam (8-stanza hymn) on Goddess Rukmini (the consort of Lord Krishna). This is taken from Skanda Mahapuranam, Prabhasa Khandam, Dwaraka Mahatmyam, Rukmini Puja Mahatmyam and Chapter 22. This hymn appears as part of the prescribed procedure to worship Goddess Rukmini in Dwaraka.

I am sharing this hymn as such hymns on the consorts of Lord Krishna are very very rare (in fact almost nil). I have shared almost all the hymns on Goddess Mahalakshmi I have come across in Purans over the last 14 years. The Dhyana shloka on Goddess Mahalakshmi is from a different source.

May We Pray to Goddess Mahalakshmi in the form of Goddess Rukmini during Varalakshmi Vrat!
