Ok,
so i downloaded from ubuntu 18.04 Synaptic repository. got this crash report which surprisingly asked me to send the report to a non-existent email address. Ubuntu's default Python is 2.7 and I know this is looking for 3.x, but wouldn't this script change the environment to 3.x? That is something I don't quite know how to do.
the crash report is attached.

Ubuntu 18.04 has a quite old version of Sage, 8.1, iirc.
Your best bet might be building from source, or using conda.
