On Macbook Pro with Intel Corei5 with homebrew, I tried from the first built:

i) OS 12.3.1 with Xcode 13.3.1,

ii) OS 12.4 with Xcode 13.3.1,,

iii) OS 12.4 with Xcode 13.4.

For i) and ii), I could compile Sage-9.6 from the first built but not for iii) (as I sent you in stupidly many message, I am sorry for this);

it seems there is a problem in clang (in Xcode 13.4)… in relation with the permission etc. 

With option i), make ptestlong gives : all test passed !

        option ii), make ptestlong gives : 

sage -t --long --warn-long 179.6 --random-seed=252307244752505792823713339309429636800 src/sage/groups/affine_gps/affine_group.py  # 2 doctests failed

make: *** [ptestlong] Error 1

Under the same conditions, but on Apple Silicon, I did not encounter any problems at all.

The "master" git branch has been updated to Sage-9.6. As always, you can get the latest beta version from the "develop" git branch. Alternatively, the self-contained source tarball is at http://www.sagemath.org/download-latest.html

There was no change over 9.6.rc4
