Hi,
My name is Swastik Banerjee, and I'm a 3rd year CS undergrad from SRM University, Chennai.
I aim to pursue research in Theoretical Computer Science in my future, and I'm particularly interested in Number Theory, Combinatorial and Graph Optimizations, Cryptography and Algorithms and Complexities. I have previously been a research intern at the Indian Statistical Institute,Kolkata on Cryptology, and I'm also an ACM ICPC Asia Amritapuri Regionalist (Honorable Mention 2019-'20).
I have known Sage for almost 2 years now, although it is quite recently that I have started using it myself, along with Mathematica (although I find a few features of Sage strikingly unique), and now I want to make some contributions to the community.
I am currently exploring the existing graph algorithms already available in Sage, and going through the Developer's Documentation to get acquainted with the interface of CoCalc.
I have previously implemented Graph Algorithms and solved graph-related problems on my own, and hence I am also looking for Active Tickets in Trac that match my expertise so that I can start with contributing to some basic open issues.
Regarding GSOC, the projects "Diameter, Radius, Eccentricities, and Distances" and "Database of generators and of "sporadic" examples of distance-regular graphs" particularly grab my attention and also match my current expertise, as I'm currently also pursuing self-reading graph theory on my own and I've been reading books like Douglas West's, etc to develop a deeper understanding on Graph Theory.
Looking forward to make some positive contributions and develop a good relation with the Sage community in the upcoming months.
Thanking You,
With Regards,
Swastik
