Hey Everyone!
I hope you all are doing well. I'm Shubham Kapoor, a final year CS student from India. I'm interested in open-source software and found the projects this year at SageMath very interesting and I'm looking forward to contributing to and learning from this community!

I'm interested in working on [Improve (free) module implementations],
any advice on how to get started with this?

Dear Shubham,
You should get acquainted with our development model, which you can find out about on our github page: https://github.com/Sage. Additional information regarding the application process can be found on the ideas page.

For the free modules implementations, you should look at the library code related to free modules and understand the current organization and implementations.

Best,
Travis
