Hello Mentors,
My name is Mark Paquette, and I am a sophomore Computer Science and Mathematics double major at Bowdoin College. My entire career I have loved learning about the overlaps of math and computer science and now I am thrilled to find an organization that perfectly embodies that.

In the field of mathematics, I have taken courses in multivariate calculus, linear algebra (a course in which I used Sage), math reasoning, probability, combinatorics, and graph theory. While on the side of computer science, I am familiar with data structures, algorithms, java, python, and I have been briefly introduced to javascript and html.

I was most interested in the proposed "Plane partitions and alternating sign matrices" project, since combinatorics is my most recent class and I have been interested in learning more,  but am curious to see if any mentors think I fit another project better based on my provided background.

Thank you to all the mentors for taking the time to work with us on such a great program!

Thanks
Mark Paquette

Hi Mark,
My advice would be that you should apply for the projects that interest you and that you think you have the capacity to undertake.

Best,
Travis
