Hello,

My name is Nico Santamaria I am a second-year student at Pomona College in Claremont, California, studying mathematics and philosophy with coursework in computer science.

I’ve used Sage in courses in Number Theory & Cryptography and Combinatorics (so it’s installed and I have forked the repository), and have felt since last semester that I would love to contribute to the project. Unfortunately, I only found about about GSoC yesterday, and submitted a last-minute proposal regarding the Dynamical Systems with Multiple Functions project idea, having briefly worked with a professor whose research is in discrete dynamical chaos.

Unfortunately, due to its rushed nature, the proposal I submitted is not nearly as refined as it could or should be. I’m wondering if it’s now too late to inquire as to what might be some fruitful or useful specific areas to look into in more depth.

I have experience in Python and Haskell through formal coursework and personal projects (I like to solve the problems on projecteuler.net for fun) and feel comfortable engaging with higher mathematics due to my degree focus in pure math.

Thanks and best wishes,
Nico
