Error building package gfortran

Dear Sage Development Team,

I'm encountering issues while attempting to build Sage on my system. The problem occurs when running the command:

    MAKE="make -j8" make

I'm following the installation guide from
    https://sagemanifolds.obspm.fr/install_ubuntu.html

When reviewing the build logs, I noticed an issue with gfortran-14.2.0. As suggested in the error output, I'm reaching out to sage-devel with details about my setup.

System Information

• OS: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS (Noble)
• Build Command: MAKE="make -j8" make
• Installation Guide: Following https://sagemanifolds.obspm.fr/install_ubuntu.html
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz
• RAM 32 GB

I've attached the following log files to this email:

• /home/penegas/sage/logs/pkgs/gfortran-14.2.0.log
• /home/penegas/sage/config.log

Please install gcc, g++, and gfortran as your OS packages.
Don't try to build Sage's gcc/gfortan, it's broken and, frankly,
overdue to be removed. What's available from OS should suffice in all
cases.
