Has anyone had trouble using SageMathCloud today?

I had 3 classes use SMC today. The first two went fine. The last class reported several problems. Multiple students had trouble opening their assignment (Sage worksheets). Once they got their assignment open, nothing would run (flashing green bar for 10 minutes with no output).

I did not have any problems myself. In the past, a student or two may have had problems, but this was the most widespread service issue I have experienced.

By the way, most of these students are on members-only machines.

So did anyone else run into this today?

Yes, similar experiences about 3:30 PM Pacific. Working properly again about
4:00-4:30 PM.

There was a very specific cause for this, namely this commit:

https://github.com/sagemathinc/smc/commit/49ba0a4b7628c26fe782eee3d1635f0808575564

which I fixed about an hour later via this commit:

https://github.com/sagemathinc/smc/commit/d7a0ddb287aab957ac77b5637268a93e30d6fcf7

I spent *a lot* of time the last two weeks working on bug fixing and
quality improvements to some very tricky, critical, low level
asynchronous code related to communication and realtime sync.... and
as far as I know everything is now perfect.

But I've had a very stressful day today.

Which is why I didn't report it initially.

Maybe some time on the vert ramp is in order? ;-)

SMC is working out great for my course this term. Thanks.

Thank you for the information. It's nice to know there was a specific reason. I had six classes using SMC this week, and only one experienced problems - just bad luck with the timing.
