I am setting up a course, and SMC is truncating some of my IPython/Jupyter notebooks.
I developed them locally on OS X using the conda default python 2 kernel. I did an md5sum, zipped and unzipped locally - all fine.

Next I upload the zip to SMC, unzipped and the md5 sum and file length was OK.

I use the SMC file navigator and double click and only part of the notebook loads. (It truncates after the cell "Using np.savetxt to Write Data Files".)

File is truncated when I fire it up using python 2 (ubuntu default). But the file on the disk is not truncated. If I quit or do a kernel restart, the truncated file is written to the disk.

Weird and frustrating. Any help?

Create a support request with a link to the specific notebook where
you have trouble.

Your zip file works fine for me and nothing is truncated. Like I
said, create a support request with a link to the specific notebook
where you have trouble. It's important to know what web browser
you're using, properties of your project, etc., to have any hope of
debugging this. To make a support request, click the "Help" button
in the upper right.

I thought it might be the code in the last cell to use a custom css file. I removed that cell, but I am still getting truncation. This notebook truncates after the first cell.

I'm sorry that it isn't working for you. This file also works fine for us.

Hello, can you please tell us which web-browser you're using and send
us a link to your project (copy the URL from the web-browser when
you're right there in your project in SMC) to he...@sagemath.com ? Then
we can take a look to see what's going on.

Thank you,

Harald

Hal guessed you might be using firefox (!?), and was able to find a
way to reproduce your issue. See

Yep. Switched to Chrome and the problem went away. I'll warn my students.

Hi,

For what it is worth, I fixed the bug causing truncation with Firefox.
(I'm not super excited with how the fix works, but anyways.)
