Subject: Seeking comments on IRCTC accessibility claims in Railway PIL affidavit -Difficulties in booking Divyangjan Quota tickets
To: <jayakumar...@gmail.com>

Dear Vaishnavi,
Thank you for sharing the affidavit regarding the Railway PIL. I would like to bring to your attention a highly critical issue faced while attempting to book tickets under the physically challenged quota on the IRCTC website and mobile application.

Despite IRCTC's extensive claims regarding accessibility, the ground reality is quite different. I face numerous difficulties while booking tickets under this quota. The most prominent issue is
that ticket booking under the physically challenged quota is completely unavailable for Second Class AC (2nd Class AC / 2A). The absence of a booking facility in this important class causes immense inconvenience to
commuters with disabilities, which directly contradicts the claims of seamless accessibility.

Please include this crucial point in your feedback or documentation for the PIL so that this issue can be strongly raised before the Honorable Court and the railway administration.

Thank you
Seema Sharma

Hi Vaishnavi,
I have compiled information in this document, which I have added to our shared folder. I went through the IRCTC website to see if I face the same problem, and the portal showed availability of 2AC seats. It would be helpful to get some particulars regarding the train and stations they were booking and when, if this has to be looked into further.

Regards,
Ananya
