Missing libpango i386 ubuntu 18.04

Hello,

I am attempting to install S4A on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS 64bit.

I attempted the suggested troubleshooting recommendations on the S4A site.

Fist of all, enable i386 packages and install ia32-libs

dpkg --add-architecture i386
apt-get update
apt-get install ia32-libs


Then install S4A:

dpkg -i --force-architecture S4A16.deb







However, I am not able to get past the "apt-get install ia32-libs"

Please see below, the output from command run:

apt-get install ia32-libs  ##<--- actual command run

However the following packages replace it:

libpango-1.0-0 is already the newest version (1.40.14-1ubuntu0.1).

## Ubuntu Release information:

I would appreciate any help, hints, or suggestions.

Hi Frank,

Yes you're right, these instructions are a bit outdated because the ia32-libs package is not available in latest versions of Ubuntu. You need to do the following steps:

1. Add i386 architecture and update:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt-get update

2. Try to install S4A:

sudo dpkg -i S4A16.deb

You'll see that some packages are missing:

3. If you make an 'apt-get install -f' probably the system will try to install them:

4. Just confirm the installation and there you go!
