Hi Runners,
This Saturday March 14th, we will start our long run at 6:30 a.m. at the Flying Biscuit to run our own heartbreak hilly route.  This  10 or 12 mile route does hills on 23rd, then goes over I-75 to get the big hill on 39th to come back and more hills on 39th.  If you run up to Hunters Crossing you can get 12 miles in, or come back down 39th/then 34th without going to HC for 10 miles.   This route has hills, paved trail, roadside, and sidewalk, water stops every 2 to 3 miles, 3 have bathrooms, at 2 you could buy gatorade. The Flying B is at corner of NW 16th Avenue and NW 43rd Avenue, we park close to 43rd.  On MapMyRun: 11.99 mi Flying Biscuit Heartbreak hill route     http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/230811065

Some of us have discussed the virus issue for running.  We think we are okay at the present time - but it would be a good idea to carry your own water bottle so you don't need to touch public water fountains and faucets.  If you have those individual packets of wet ones, they would be good to carry too.  I am taking it easy after a slow marathon and will not be in to run.  Please watch out for any new runners.  We are not planning to go out for  breakfast after.

Also here's a race Saturday:  2020 Joey's Wings 5k & Kids Obstacle Challenge on March 14th at Santa Fe College to benefit childhood cancer research and a local pediatric cancer family.   Race day registration begins at 7:30 am and 5k starts at 8:30 am. There will be a post-race party with live music, snack, fruits, and yummy food from local restaurants!  www.joeywings.org

Check first these next few weeks:     contact Richard  rjgarand@gmail.com     The Sunday morning trail run meets at  7:30 am, leave at 7:45  for a fun run under the trees.  Several marked nature trails allow for name-your-own distance between 2 and 20 miles, the large group means you never have to run alone (unless you want!).  All paces encouraged.  San Felasco south entrance, 11101 Millhopper Road, Gainesville.

So wash your hands often, stay away from big crowds. don't touch your face....
Run happy, Diane

I talked with the race director today and the Joeys Wings race has been postponed until the fall.

Hi Everyone!

Sunday Trail Run continues!  We exchange no items and require no setup.  As long as there is 1) no lightning 2) the state park remains open we will meet every Sunday morning at 7:30am.  Come out and run your own pace and distance and make some new friends in a safe environment.  The trail is big enough for all of us to enjoy some social distancing together.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Richard
