other than scheduling at the same time as separate jobs - is there a way within a single job to run several job simultaneously?

Hi Sans,

You can set a job to allow multiple executions. If you mean create multiple schedules for the same job that is not possible. We have on the roadmap a change to separate schedule from job definition.

thanks

Jobs can use the command line tools to submit other jobs. So I have jobs that submit multiple concurrent executions (with different parms) of another job. Don't use the -f option on the run command and the job will just be submitted without waiting for the execution to finish.

Alex SF helped me in the chat to run jobs concurrently - apparently it is NOT by default.  i had to update my config file to enable this:
feature.incubator.parallelWorkflowStrategy=true

after rebooting - this worked!
