Hi,
I'm running rundeck 2.5.2 in tomcat 8.0.24.  If I am logged into rundeck and then restart tomcat any link seems to redirect continuously to /project and chrome eventually yeilds the error:

This webpage has a redirect loop
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

I need to clear my cookies or restart the browser to get back to a login screen.  Is there a way to get sessions to persist cross restarts or at least show a login screen on an invalid session request?

Thanks
-Dave

I saw something similar in different aspect - if your rundeck is hidden after not completely configured reverse proxy (e.g. you'd given nice domain name internal network) this may produce similar effect.

Hi,

I've run into this as well. It has to do with tomcat trying to keep the session ids after the restart. In the conf/context.xml, uncomment the line "<Manager pathname="" />", this will correct the problem. Works fine with tomcat 7 and 8.

Thanks,
Jason

Thank you.  That was exactly it.
