The mathematical sciences are full of amazing tools that help us understand the world around us. Unfortunately, most of our students only see the tools in one compartment of the toolbox: Calculus. Many of them would benefit from more work with data, statistics, math modeling, computational reasoning, and data analysis. If you agree that we should broaden our view of what mathematics is to help our students meet today’s challenges, please join me in signing and promoting this open letter.
