DC area. The developers will work in an Agile Scrum team environment
on full lifecycle projects. The systems environment is quickly evolving
and cutting edge. The development environment leverages technology
from the open source Hydra project, as well as Solr/Lucene, Python and
JavaScript. Java expertise and working in a Linux environment are
desirable. The developers will be involved in evaluating user
requests, analyzing requirements, developing technical specifications,
performing feasibility analysis, developing analytic applications and
data management solutions and assisting users to solve operational
problems. The developers should be experts in GUI development and need
to be able to perform with minimal supervision.

At least 2 years of experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails (experience must be recent!)
Rails development for more than one customer
Experience working in a full systems development life cycle projects
Demonstrated experience working independently to deliver web applications
Ability to drive solutions to problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives
Excellent communication skills
Ability to set up, configure, and deploy Java applications.
Experience working in a Red Hat Linux environment (preferably RHEL 6)
Training or certifications in Hadoop is a plus
Strong data analysis skills
Strong SQL skills
Knowledge of big data technologies, including Hadoop and NoSQL databases
Working knowledge of jQuery, HTML and CSS
Strong JavaScript background
Experience with Python
