Hey there!

I am Koustav Chowdhury, presently a student of IIT Kharagpur.. I love coding and am proficient  in C, C++,Ruby, Python (especially GUI development using Tkinter), and Go.

I've specific doubts regarding the projects:

Firstly, do I have to put a patch on GitHub for Ruby regarding any issue?(If yes, what's the deadline? Cuz I'm presently working on building a music app for an in-campus competition, which effectively means 7 days of involvement)

Secondly, I have doubts regarding the implementation of a 2FA in gem push, (I've limited exposure in coding gemfiles. Can you guys guide me?)

Hi Koustav,

You do not need to supply a patch for Ruby. The Ruby GSoC project includes gems written in Ruby, as well as Ruby itself.

You will not need to code Gemfiles to implement 2FA for RubyGems.

If your proposal is accepted, you will be assigned one or more mentors to help you accomplish your project goals. Proposals will be accepted starting March 12.

Good luck!

Hi André

Just wanted to know whether the 2FA will be based on implementing TOPT
authentication to the login process.
If Yes, then which TOPT client will be used? LIke TOPT is IETF standard and has the huge variety of client implementations.

P.S: I have worked with Google Authenticator in one of my projects for the web-team!
