We had no mention of "Tempest weatherflow" in the rtl_433 project. If it's not a rebrand then it needs to be analyzed before it can work.
For a modern weather station I'd expect the frequency (in Europe) to be 868MHz.

and we'll see if it's an easy one. But supporting new sensors might take weeks.

Yes, that is helpful. If it is accurate :)
100 kbps is very fast. I would expect 10 kbps only.

2GFSK is supported by rtl_433. It's our usual FSK.

The frequency and channel count is strange. You can watch 3 channels at the same time:

 rtl_433 -f 864.3M -s 1024k -S unknown

Let it run for some time. A few "Saved signal" should appear.
Then locate the .cu8 files, zip and upload.

I am also interested in rtl_433 support for the WeatherFlow Tempest! I have captured a few packets from where it operates, which is 906MHz.

sudo  rtl_433 -f 906M -s 1024k -S unknown
g002_906M_1024k.cu8
g005_906M_1024k.cu8
g001_906M_1024k.cu8
g003_906M_1024k.cu8
g004_906M_1024k.cu8

Those recordings do not look like a complete signal, they are cut off at both ends. If you can time it maybe record with the -T option instead of the -S option.
E.g. for a 30 seconds recording:
 rtl_433 -f 906M -s 1024k -w tempest_906M_1024k.cu8 -T 30

That is really strange. The whole 2 minutes is a signal, and there is no indication if that is even the full signal.

The shape is also strange, as if it is a sweeping tone (down towards the 60s mark then back up again) but in FSK.

We need captured samples that look like data packets. https://triq.org/rtl_433/ANALYZE.html
The prior ones just look like jamming or beacon signal.

Another thing comes to mind: is the signal maybe LoRA? (Long running and slow changing...) We can't decode that.

The signal modulation cant be handled with the current code in rtl_433.
Support for this device is unlikely.

I just contacted Weatherflow asking for more details. They shared this information:
  • Base frequency: 902 MHz.
  • Channel Spacing: 2000 kHz.
  • Channels: 902, 906, 908, 910, 912 MHz.
  • Number of channels: 5.
  • Modulation: OQPSK 100kpbs with DSSS.
Here are five fresh captures, of each frequency:
rtl_433 -f 9XXM -s 1024k -w tempest_9XXM_1024k.cu8 -T 30

Very interesting! Though OQPSK is rather advanced and in any case PSK is not supported by rtl_433. I doubt a simple general purpose demod can grab these codes. You would need a demod specifically for OQPSK. Or maybe a matching transceiver chip.
