Hi All

Despite the heat and weather warnings for lightening (although the lightening may only affect those leaving the pub in the early hours of Wednesday morning!) we are planning to meet up in the layby opposite the closed Three Horshoes pub at Ironsbottom, do our usual lovely off-road ride towards Henfold Lane and then to The Plough at Leigh on road. About 10 miles in all. Nice and easy. Meet at 7pm. Pub by 8/8.15.

We shall see you at Ironsbottom or at the pub, depending on how mad you are!

Hi Sue

I’ll think about it ... I had only my third ride out today on a bike in nine years (courtesy of Andrew S’s loaned rear wheel) for about 45 minutes and managed fine (apart from the hill up Coremongers Lane where I had to dismount and push it) - a kindly young (and fit) cyclist even stopped to ask me if I was OK!

Though it sounds nice, I’m not sure I’m ready for 10 miles yet!

Thanks for choosing this lovely gentle ride. I'll definitely be there.

I'll say to my good friend Rick, if you could even attempt something as steep and unwelcoming as Cormongers Lane, you could do this one in your sleep, with both feet tied behind your back - though on second thoughts, don't try to. Honestly, this ride is a piece of cake, and a tasty one at that. Go on, give it a try, I'll stay with you.
