Paola, in an opinion I have shared many times, I agree with your overall assessment of why Ronin was closed.
Further, estimates are that closer to over million dollars disappeared, also throughly discussed with numbers and documents, multiple times on older threads
It wasn't a case of exploiting legal loopholes it was simply sloppy accounting. If we had retained an attorney the monies would easily have been traced.
People decided to not pursue keeping the original Ronin open by investigating the financial issues, so it was dropped.
Thus the old board was never held to accountability.
Then with much gnashing and effort, new bylaws were created by a small team who did a lot of work but produced something which some members are not happy with. Evidently those members are less important that the ones who wrote the bylaws so they are now dismissed
Details are now finally becoming important again - who owns the Web and Mail domains, for example. And those details seem to stop everything..
Meanwhile we are now supposed to be concerned with political opinions which do not serve the objectives of our organization. That's what a club is for, but evidently others disagree.
With this high level of confusion and disorganization - will I can only hope Ronin can find its way again.
Regina
