Harris Hill Work Party-Saturday May 10

Good afternoon,

I'm sure hoping we have the insurance for the FSF chapter resolved by this Saturday May 10th.

That day was originally set up for a work party at Katydid.  Well, George Adams went up there a week ago or so and cleaned up the Katydid site by himself.  Thanks George!  He had the time and just went and did it.  He says it is good and ready to fly. (once we get our insurance resolved).  So with that said, we can focus on Harris Hill work party Saturday instead if we get the club insurance resolved by Friday evening.

It looks like it could be a flyable day (Northwest) on the 10th also, so that would be icing on the cake! 

Will keep you posted as we wait on insurance updates...if we hear anything back from the RRRG.

Today we had a pretty good day dealing with the RRRG.  Looking promising for Saturday work party at Harris Hill.

This insurance stuff is getting harder each year, but at the same time we're figuring out how to navigate it.

This work party if a go should turn into a real party!  Hopefully there could be flying late in the day based on the forecast I saw.

Hello,

 

It is a Grand Day!!!  I went in and looked on the RRRG website and the COI Certs are there for the 2025-2026 year!  Also I confirmed with Galen at USHPA that we are all good...insurance is active.  We are golden now to hold our work party tomorrow and with any luck we will fly also! 

 

Hopefully we will see many of you there tomorrow and bring your tools and gliders!

 

I think I'm gonna drag my old camper up there tomorrow morning to Harris Hill.   I personally have a plan to arrive around 9AM.  If you are planning to come, do what suits you for arrival time.  Don't kill yourself to get there by 9AM especially if you live far away!

If you happen to have a serious brush cutting trimmer like a weed whacker with a blade bring that too.  We always have a shortage of them.

I have 4 chainsaws.  3 hand saws, 1 pair of heavy hand pruners.  1 crappy electric weed whacker.

Got 4 types of beer and some hotdogs and buns...

The beer is for after the flying!

Thanks everyone who came out and helped clean up Harris Hill !!! Awsome to fly here again!

We put the "party" back in "work party"...alot got done and we had some fun too!

Someone left an Eddie Bauer grayish colored sweater/sweatshirt thing here at Harris by the launch.  Claim it!  Thanks

I just got the email a few minutes ago from USHPA and we got the insurance!  So Yes we are having the work party at Harris Hill.  I should be up there by about 9AM.  I'm bringing my glider also for after the work is done!
