Hi,

I am getting attached error while opening chrome browser. It looks like issue with chrome driver version. I have tried using latest driver version for Chrome browser (80.0.3), I have also tried old driver versions, but getting the same error. Please help me on the same.

Thanks,
Shiva Prakash

Hi

To successfully open browser there is three important and one less important points to take in consideration: The important points are:
1) Browser, in this case Chrome
2) Browser driver, in this case ChromeDriver
3) Selenium, not know in this case.

All three points should support each other. The browser driver release pages usually tell (Chrome is good in this side) what browser version they support, so make sure browser is compatible with your browser driver (At least in the picture it is not.) Also make sure that your Selenium version is compatible with the browser driver, which usually can be found from the Selenium release notes, but Selenium is not particularly good at this. so trying out the latest and beta/alfa/rc version is good choice.

The less important point is SeleniumLibrary. The latest SeleniumLibrary supports only Selenium 3.141 and 4. Usually SeleniumLibrary is pretty flexible on the Selenium version, but moving to Selenium 4 requires to drop support for older Selenium versions then 3.141.0

Hello Shiva,

Your version of Chromedriver appears to be quite old! Based on your screen shot.

Try downloading a more recent version to match with the version of Google Chrome that you are using. Look here:  https://chromedriver.chromium.org/downloads

Good luck!
