Seeking Young Adults for Experiential Field Semester
|

Perhaps you know a young adult who is looking for an experiential engaging immersive undergraduate experience? Please encourage them to apply for the upcoming fall 2021 Mountain Resilience Semester, an immersion in people, places, and environment. It's an undergraduate study away gap semester integrating climate change resiliency, sustainability, alpine ecosystems, wilderness expeditions, and mountain communities in partnership with the Center for Mountain Transitions.
Spread the word and encourage folks to apply as soon as possible to ensure their spot in this program. Preferred application deadline: Friday, July 2, 2021.

And a few highlights of field programming to share that are coming together include:
- Backpacking in the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado.
- Flying with EcoFlight around the San Luis Valley to explore culture, water, and land management.
- Sharing experiences and climate change observations with young adults in our sister city Majkhali, India
- Doing climate science with the Mountain Studies Institute in Silverton
- Visiting and helping out with local sustainable farming and ranching projects
- Exploring Colorado Creative Districts
- Doing science with researchers at Niwot Ridge Mountain Research Center
- Spending 3 nights at Margy’s 10th Mountain Hut while studying public land management
- Exploring impacts of increased visitation to public lands at Rocky Mountain National Park along with exploring recent fire impacts and fire ecology
- Hiking to Independence Lake at the Continental Divide
- Learning about national snow science projects while cross country skiing at staying at the Thunder Mt. Lodge on the Grand Mesa
