Hello Bill,

1. Around this address (see attachment), for example Los Angeles

2. I am looking for a baker. (Tab Places)

3. his name is Phoenix Bakery Inc.(Tab Places)

4. I select him as a poi pin, his name is taken over but immediately changed by the address. This means that in the list we have two times the address. I don't understand the advantage of using the address twice. On the contrary, in a list, it is much clearer to have the name of the wpt and the address!

If there is a reason for this, I suggest to take this as option in de preferences.

Thanks,

Francis

Hi Francis,

I seem to have different results than you.
I added a route pin with address 969 N Broadway, Los Angeles, CALIF as shown below.
In the Places tab, I entered bakery and pressed Return.
I selected Phoenix Bakery, and clicked the + button.
Phoenix Bakery was added to the POI list.

See below. I also attached the test file I used.
Thanks,
Bill

I think I found the reason. I am not looking for a fixed address, but in the city of Los Angeles. "Window Routepins>+>LosAngeles", the program suggests "Hotel de vile".
Then in the Tab Places I search for bakery, I select Phoenix Bakery, then I add it to the POIpin's. Here it is

Hello Bill,
The same happens with Routepins
See SearchTown.png
I type the town name "Artigues, France" : (Window Routepins>+>Artigues, France)
Button "Go"
See town selected.png: The name changed from town to address

I hope this can help you

Thanks

Hi Francis,

I’m not getting the same results as you are; see screenshot below. Are you sure you’re using version 4.6.08? Previous versions may have bugs.

Thanks,
Bill

I have the latest version, see PrtScrn. However, I have this additional information: My computer was doing a backup, the CPU was busy, and therefore the computer was a little slower than usual.
I opened RTP, searched for the city and selected it.
And then I saw clearly that the name of the city is written correctly in the "name" column, but that immediately the name is erased by the address. It is as if a routine was called in the program after filling in the name. So the name is overwritten by the address!
I don't know how to make a printscreen because it goes too fast, and I don't have a program like camstudio that would record this in video.

thanks for support
Francis

I think it’s in the preference settings . Route pins maybe. Top left . Something about use reference address. Experiment and you’ll get it.

Found.
Here is the problem. See attachement
I would suggest to adapt the explanation below this option.

Bye
