Understanding the integration between RTP and RV Dump Sites, Boondocking, etc

Can someone explain how the integration between RTP and these auxiliary apps works? Does this data show up on the maps in RTP? I can see in the iOS version of RTP that I can send data to the auxiliary apps but I don't understand why I would want to do this, unless this function is intended to allow users to share new locations. Thanks.

Thanks, Bill. That is helpful, though I'm still trying to understand the workflow. It seems like you're suggesting that I have to be working in a bunch of different apps to do my planning rather than just working in RTP. If I'm looking for a truck stop along the route, I open one app and then import a data point into RTP. If I'm looking for a dump station, I open another app and import that data point into RTP. Is this correct, or am I missing something?

That is correct, but not necessary. The ability to work with the other apps is simply a conveniece you can use or not use.
Otherwise you can use the Places tab as shown below.
