Would it be possible to have the map differentiate between multiple routes by making the route "paths" different colors?  That would sure make it easier to set up a series of trips.

Also, is there a way to take a map with 4 different trips (routes) on it and split it into 4 individual maps (trips) instead?

Thanks!

Do you mean if a road trip consists of 6 individual route paths, each of those route paths is a different color?  Or maybe a different line pattern?  Is that what you mean?  If so, would anyone else find this useful?

For your second question, do you mean split one file into 4 individual files, each containing one of the 4 routes?  If so, it’s not automatic, but you could close the file, in the Finder make 4 copies of the file, open each one and delete some pins so each file contains just the route you want.

Thanks,
Bill

Yes, that’s exactly what I mean.

That’s what i did but thought there might be an easier way.  Right now you can only select and delate a single pin at a time which makes this not fun.  Any chance you could implement multiple selection (shift/click and command/click)?

Thanks,
Bill

I’ll take a look, but are you aware that if you hold down the Option key when deleting a pin you bypass the confirmation alert?  It goes a lot faster that way.

Yes, that’s exactly what I mean.

Here’s what I can do for the release after the next release, as a preference.  Allow odd numbered routes to be gray (or ?), even numbered are blue — see attached.

Would anyone find this useful?

Thanks,
Bill

That would help.  Most of mine are circular as they start and end at my home office.  If you take a look at the file I just sent you you can see how i am using it to plan multiple trips.

Eric,

Sending me the file helped me locate the bug.  It was a simple fix, and it’ll be available in the release after the next release.  Unfortunately Apple takes about 8 days to approve a release after I submit it to them, so it can be a waiting game.

Thanks again for sending me the file.  Glad to fix a bug!

Always glad to help!

I’m a pretty experienced Beta tester so if you ever need me to assist feel free to let me know.

I’m always looking for beta testers.  Anyone on this forum can beta test.  To start, I need the UUID from your Mac as shown below. Copy / paste it to an email message (no screenshots please) and send it to <modesitt...@gmail.com>.  Thanks!

Resurrecting an old topic but I would like to be able to show multiple trips on a single map with the routes color coded. This would be immensely helpful for future trip planning.

Yes, a 11-year-old topic is old! It’s a great idea, albeit a hard one to implement. I suppose there could be “layers” of road trips per file.
It’s something the development team will consider.
Thanks,
Bill

This would be great. I myself have tried to figure out a way to show multiple cross country road trips on a single map using Photoshop but it’s just not satisfactory.

For now you can merge multiple GPX files RTP can create from your routes. Then view or edit with them with a GPX viewer or editor.
